This is an experiment I've wanted to try for a while now.
I grew up watching the painter Bob Ross, who had a long-running TV show on PBS called "The Joy of Painting". In each episode he would paint a scene in real time. He talked while he worked, explaining what he was doing and demonstrating his process. He showed how to deal with little mistakes when painting, and he encouraged the viewer to follow along. I've wanted to try this format with composing music.
Now, audio is different than visual media. It's harder to talk over music. As a result, this doesn't work quite the same way as Bob Ross's wonderful show. Hopefully it's still interesting and engaging, and useful to somebody who wants to try writing music.
