This is a brass quintet arrangement of the 1940 song, You Are My Sunshine. The original music was by Jimmie Davis and Charles Mitchell. This arrangement was a collaboration too, between me and my father, Dwight Tibbetts.
Dwight is a trumpet player and the founder of two brass quintets, the Downeast Brass and the Coastal Brass. Before he retired, he taught middle school band in the area of Augusta, Maine.
I've collaborated with Dad before, on arrangements of O Waly, Waly and Wade In The Water. I've also dedicated some work to him, such as my original band piece To My Father As A Young Man.
